“Betsy Brenner has mentored several of my clients and her coaching has been an extremely valuable adjunct to their individual therapy work. In addition to the wisdom that Betsy brings from her own recovery experience, she provides powerfully encouraging, warm and empathic support to her mentees. Betsy puts her heart and soul into her work and her care and concern is deeply felt by her clients.”

“ In our group, Betsy engages us with warmth, compassion and without judgment. Her message of “it’s never too late to be a work in progress” is especially meaningful to me as a senior with a longstanding struggle with anorexia. I can’t change or undo the past, but I’ve learned that it’s never too late to live life to the fullest, and for this I am grateful to Betsy.”

Client Testimonials
I have been part of Betsy’s support group for 3 years. Each week she brings so much hope and encouragement to all of us. It has become a safe place to share how to navigate being in ED Recovery. She listens and is very compassionate about helping others heal and walk in freedom! I use a lot of her tools to help me make day to day or meal to meal decisions. She’s the best!

Eating disorders thrive in isolation, and it can be an extremely dark, lonely place. Betsy connects us with others, in mid life and beyond, who get it. With Betsy’s guidance and deep understanding of eating disorders, supportive groups of women from around the world meet in person, virtually, and at retreats, to fight our eating disorders together. Ed doesn’t stand a chance; we are more than our eating disorders, we can do this together, connection makes us stronger- Betsy’s groups, book, and speaking engagements are inspiring. They have given me greater insight, hope, and acceptance that recovery may not be linear; baby steps are the way forward.

I have had an eating disorder for 50 years. I have sought treatment and support for many many years. In 2018, I was fortunate to be assigned Betsy as my sponsor through ANAD. In addition to her one on one support during my struggles, I was able to join her online support group, aimed at supporting women in mid life with eating disorders. This virtual support group is exceptional and supportive beyond measure. I have been part of many virtual support groups but Betsy’s group is special. To be able to have the support of women in my age group is amazing. Often. Women my age feel inappropriate for current programs that are attended by a much younger population, making us feel left out. Betsy has filled our need and right to have compassionate support and a sense of belonging.

I have been participating in Betsy’s support groups for over two years. I never attended any other support group before and I am grateful that I joined Betsy’s group. The support group is playing a critical role in my recovery. Betsy’s professionalism, charisma and compassion allows each participant to share very personal and difficult parts of the recovery. Betsy creates a true sense of community and a place for everyone to feel safe during the meeting discussions.
